Lecturer

Jake currently serves as a Lecturer in the Bachelor of Counselling and Psychotherapy program at the Ikon Institute, where he delivers lectures, coordinates courses, and develops curricula. In particular, Jake coordinates and has authored subjects such as Case Formulation, Embodied Psychotherapy, and Integrative Treatment Skills.

Additionally, Jake is a sessional academic at the Australian National University (ANU), where he serves as a demonstrator in the Bachelor of Science (Psychology) in the School of Medicine and Psychology.

Research & Scholarship

Jake is currently engaged in advanced psychological research at the Precision Lab, Australian National University (ANU), focusing on depression, anxiety, and idiographic processes.

In collaboration with colleagues, Jake is investigating “Momentary Change in Personality States, Function, and Distress.” This research employs a repeated-measures (EMA) design to analyse daily fluctuations in distress and personality states, enhancing the understanding of psychological variability in daily life. The findings are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of innovative clinical and theoretical frameworks for assessing distress dynamics.
